Nordic Field Service and Support Engineer - TILLSATT

The function of the Service and Support Engineer is to provide expert hands-on technical expertise in all aspects of installation, commissioning, basic customer training, maintenance, fault-finding and customer support for all our Mass Spectrometry(MS) instruments; ESI, TOF, MALDI, LC and TQ. The customers are R&D labs at the University, Biotech and Pharma industry and at the hospitals. Our clinical diagnostics customer segment at the hospitals, are growing quickly.

The primary objective is to be an efficient and effective member of the Customer Service team in delivering highly competent, effective and focussed engineering and technical support to the customer base to achieve maximum customer satisfaction and to further the professional image of the Company.

Working as a member of the Nordic Service Team involved in the installation, maintenance, service and technical support of our range of instrumentation, duties will include:

Familiarisation with specific instrumentation prior to installation from issued documentation and/or participation in the final testing process in the factory
Liaise with customers and colleagues in the site planning process prior to installation
• Inspect, install, set up, test and achieve specifications of systems and accessories at customers’ sites, and deliver basic operator training
Carry out breakdown and planned maintenance at customers’ sites
For the Medical equipment, it includes a 24/7 European hotline open 24 hours a day. All the trained Engineers in EU takes turn being on duty, approx. 1 day/2 months
Provide technical support and assistance to customers and to colleagues, either directly or by remote diagnosis
Carry out procedures necessary to validate systems to certifiable standards
Provider of technical input to the sales team in non-routine sales cases
Frequent travel within Scandinavia, now and then in the Baltic Countries and occasionally abroad is an essential part of the job. Expect around 4-5 days/week at customer sites
Accurate record keeping and timely submission of documentation is pre-requisite
Trainings will be in the factory located in Bremen, Germany

The position reports to the Nordic and Baltic Service Manager, Life Science

Location and area to focus on
Gothenburg/Malmö – in the south-west of Sweden

The area to focus on, will primarily be the south of Sweden, Copenhagen area and Oslo and the south of Norway. Together with the other 5 colleagues (2 in Sweden and 3 in Denmark) you cover the rest of Scandinavia (and some in the Baltics).

Qualification in electrical or electronic engineering, physics or a related discipline or be able to demonstrate a similar level of knowledge and skill gained by practical experience
A solid technical or scientific background gained in industry or academia
A current valid driving licence
No visa or other restriction preventing travel in the EU

Skills and Experience
The capacity to take responsibility for the complete installation and commissioning of sophisticated instrumentation and to instruct users in its basic operation
Ability to diagnose causes of malfunction and to actively resolve customers’ service problems
Good computer literacy, including familiarity with data system hardware and industry standard operating systems
The ability to communicate effectively at all levels with good spoken and written Swedish and English
